Prevent Drafts & Reduce Energy Bills –
Attic Air Sealing Service
You wouldn’t leave your front door open with the air conditioning on, so why would you let your conditioned air escape through unseen gaps into your attic? Air sealing eliminates these sneaky air leaks, improves comfort, and lowers your heating and cooling bills.
How Air Sealing Works
Older homes are full of cracks and crevices which lets your conditioned air flow easily into your unconditioned attic. This results in higher heating and cooling costs and can even compromise your indoor air quality or cause moisture problems!
By sealing the perimeter of light fixtures, ductwork, and other sources of air infiltration, you can eliminate air leakage.

The Benefits of Air Sealing

Protection From High Energy Bills
Boost your home’s energy efficiency by sealing your attic. This is no enchantment – just an effective, long-lasting barrier that provides year-round protection.

Improve Indoor Air Quality
Whenever air leaves your home, new air is coming in from somewhere! Air sealing helps prevent air intrusion and keeps contaminants out of your home.

Too Hot? Too Cold? Insulation Can Help!
Attic air leaks and drafts cause uneven temperatures and make for uncomfortable living spaces. Attic air sealing makes it easier to find your goldilocks zone!

Longer Lasting HVAC Systems
It’s not magic – when your air conditioning doesn’t have to work as hard, it lasts longer and suffers from fewer breakdowns.

Air Sealing FAQs
How can I tell if my attic needs air sealing?
Signs that your attic may need air sealing include uneven temperatures in your home, drafty rooms, high energy bills, ice dams on the roof in winter, and visible gaps or holes in the attic floor, around recessed lights and light fixtures, pipes, ducts, and chimney flues.
What is involved in the attic air sealing process?
The process typically includes a thorough inspection of the attic to identify air leaks. Once identified, these leaks are sealed with appropriate materials such as caulk, spray foam, or weatherstripping, depending on the size and location of the gap.
Note, this process should be performed when your existing attic insulation has been removed. This lets our technicians find and seal all of the penetrations, instead of only being able to locate the most obvious cracks.
Do you provide crawl space air sealing?
No, at Jack’s Attics we specialize in attics and currently do not offer crawl space air sealing or insulation services.
